Artist’s Statement:
“As an artist, my greatest joy is to be blessed with the ability to capture on
canvas what is close to people’s hearts. For that reason, the majority of my
work is done on a commissioned basis. My style has been described as
romantic realism, but how I render a piece depends upon the subject
matter and how I feel about it at that particular time. I come to my easel
as a culmination of all that I have experienced up to that moment in my life.
The sense of being able to touch people by what I create is a huge hunger
that needs to be filled to the deepest part of me. That hunger will never be
satisfied completely. My work, therefore, is always changing and growing,
just as I am. I love to paint all subject matter, but must admit that animal
portraiture and florals are my favorites.”

God’s beauty is all around us, even in the ordinary things. My goal, as an artist, is to capture and interpret that beauty on canvas; to give the viewer a painting that will invite them in, make them feel good and give their eyes a safe place to rest for a moment. I prefer to work in oil finding the flexibility of that medium best to express the wide range of subject matter and emotion in my paintings.
